The AIME project and the implications of its design for the Digital Humanities

The field of digital humanities involves a vast collection of experiments intended to render tangible some tasks which, until now, have been considered strictly speculative and cognitive in nature: thinking, reading, and commenting. The expansion of digital technologies has forced researchers and universities to question and reformulate these tasks. In the domain of the humanities and the social sciences, reading and writing always assume an interaction with a content that is profoundly situated in a context, which is cultural (transmitted through the intermediary of books, data, or other types of documents), or social (through contributions). Today, digital technologies allow us to materialize this contextual richness (wealth) at work in the intellectual processes of reading and writing in the humanities.

Within this framework, the AIME project occupies a place of particularly innovative experimentation, which involves passing from a simple means of communication to a space for debate designed for inquiry. The objective is to allow the readers to become co-inquirers thanks to new methods for producing and sharing arguments compatible with a scientific publication.
